Performing and creative Arts
Music: A Hub of Creativity and Inspiration
Our music program is a vibrant space where students can turn their passion into performance. With a professionally equipped recording room featuring a mixer, two microphones, three amplifiers, over ten types of guitars, a drum kit, more than fifty percussion instruments, two pianos, and cozy couches for inspiration, the possibilities are endless.
Students who wish to use the music room must first become certified by staff members, ensuring they’re prepared to make the most of the equipment and resources. Once certified, they can choose to take individual or group lessons on the instrument of their choice.
Our music room has become a creative haven where students have written more than five original music albums, countless cover songs, and hosted countless jamming sessions. Each year, several alumni choose to pursue careers in music, whether in production, performance, or the business side of the industry. At WDS, we pride ourselves on offering a variety of music pathways for every aspiring musician.
Theater and Cinema: Exploring Expression and Storytelling
Our theater program, though still in its early stages, is a space where creativity and confidence thrive. While we haven’t yet performed in front of an audience, our weekly theater games help students develop their stage presence, improvisational skills, and expressive potential. These foundational activities are building the skills and confidence necessary for future performances.
The cinema club at WDS is another exciting avenue for artistic exploration. Students and staff collaborate to write scripts, develop storylines, and create short films across various genres. This hands-on experience allows students to delve into storytelling, cinematography, and production, preparing them for potential careers in the film industry.
Visual arts
We have a fully equipped art room with all materials provided. Visual arts are prevalent in the community, with ongoing projects in painting, sculpting, sewing, crocheting, clothes-making, and drawing.
The art room is a buzzing creative space, constantly hosting new creative projects where students get to practice new skills and breathe life into new ideas.
